Hi, I'm Katherine Smith, a modern foreign languages graduate with experience of teaching in the public and private sectors, both in UK and Europe.
I established Vale Languages in 2001 as a specialist group, offering language tuition to primary school children.
Since then, I've taught hundreds of children in local schools in the Vale of Glamorgan and established a reputation of high quality language provision.
Online remote learning
Since the COVID19 outbreak, lessons have taken place online via the platform ZOOM. Children have been allocated to year groups and classes are open to any child from any school.
KS1 pupils enjoy 25 minute sessions of singing, poetry and games.
KS2 pupils enjoy 40 minute sessions including online quizzes, interactive games and worksheets via Classkick.com.

Languages, Literacy & Communication
To meet the new National Curriculum for Wales requirements, Vale Languages delivers French and Spanish to KS 2 pupils. Children are encouraged to take risks in new language patterns and sounds as well as focus on new cultures.
Choose from Bronze, Silver or Gold packages to meet your needs, depending on how many hours per week you require, whether for just Y6 or for the whole of KS2 or whether you also need twilight training sessions for staff.
Click In-school training for examples of children's work.
Lunch-time and after-school language clubs
KS 1 & KS 2 children learn the languages through songs, stories, games and activities in a relaxed, fun environment. Emphasis is put on accents and children are encouraged to have a go at role play in preparation for using the language abroad.
Clubs are online for the foreseeable future (see Online remote learning).
We regularly invite and perform for parents and teachers. KS 1 children sing action songs and KS 2 children present a play.
The clubs are not only about learning a language but growing in confidence and developing self-esteem.
